Position : Director of Nursing / Clinical Services
Reports To : General Manager
Location : Queensland, Australia

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the management team you will forge a new era in our client’s history.  With the growing demand for their services and a changing face of their industry in Australia we seek to appoint an experienced Director of Nursing to lead this organisation.

We seek an ambitious, customer-focused and highly motivated professional with experience preferably with a strong track record in Primary Healthcare as a Director of Nursing or ADON. You will posses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, providing strong leadership, focused on business development opportunities. The person will have a strong sense of community awareness and missional focus working with the medical community to deliver exceptional services and clinical excellence.

This appointment requires a hands on approach, strong communication skills and a focus on the clinical and missional objectives for the organisation. The salary package on offer will adequately reflect the importance of the individual to the organisation

As a key member of this large hospital’s leadership team, reporting to the hospital General Manager this position will establish the goals, strategies and processes for improved patient care and clinical capacity at the hospital.  This key position will lead the establishment of standards for clinical services and ensure training and research programs are consistent with the hospital’s strategic objectives and national health needs.

The Person 

• You will have a demonstrated knowledge and successful experience in both the development and implementation of initiatives to improve the delivery of clinical services.
• Degree in Nursing or medicine from a recognized tertiary institution and 10 plus years’ experience in a senior clinical / Nursing services management role
• FRACMA and/or other  specialist recognized award
• Knowledge of contemporary clinical governance systems and processes associated with the provision of health care services
• Strong leadership skills; ability to establish realistic goals, set priorities and mobilize teams to deliver
• A coach and mentor of professional staff
• Sound interpersonal skills; ability to report at a senior level and to influence key stakeholders

The Position

• Establish effective clinical processes, quality standards and governance consistent with hospital vision and objectives
• Review the hospital’s 2016 Clinical Service Plan and develop realistic unit plans
• Lead cultural change with staff aligned with organizational values
• Coach and mentor the hospital’s future clinical leaders
• Manage quality, safety and risk of all clinical operations including oversight of service delivery in acute, sub0acute and community health care
• Deputize for General Manager in their absence
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical governance systems and processes associated with the provision of health care services.
